Muslim Playboy model gets death threats

Fanatics' fury at Muslim Playgirl

Sila Sahin

A MUSLIM actress has caused a storm by posing n_aked for Play-boy.
Sila Sahin has been branded a "whore" and a "western s-lut" after appearing top-less on the cover of the German edition of the men's magazine.

Sila Sahin
Soap beauty ... Sila Sahin
And Islamic fanatics have posted threatening internet messages.

Sila, raised in Germany by conservative Turkish parents, says she fears being "spat at" and "shamed".

Her parents are said to have reacted with "horror" at the 12-page coverage, and her mother has apparently cut off all contact.

Sila, 25 - star of German soap Good Times, Bad Times - claimed the shoot was a reaction to the "slavery" of her youth.

She added: "What I want to say with these photos is, 'Girls, we don't have to live according to the rules imposed upon us'.

"For years I subordinated myself to various societal constraints. The Play-boy photo shoot was a total act of liberation."

Threats

But Islamic internet sites are being monitored by the BND - the German intelligence agency - after threats were posted about her "shaming Muslim womanhood" and "prostituting herself for money".

One poster on the Jihad Watch website wrote: "She needs to be very careful..." Another simply said: "She must pay."

A kebab shop owner, asked on German TV what he would do if Sila were his daughter, replied: "I would kill her. I really mean that. That doesn't fit with my culture."

The Islamic Community of Germany has called for a boycott of Sila.

About three million Muslim immigrants live in Germany, which has seen numerous honour killings in recent years by fanatical husbands, fathers and brothers.

In 2009, an asylum seeker was sentenced to life after killing his "too independent" German wife.

One police intelligence officer said of Sila: "I think what she did was either very brave, or very stupid. She will be double-locking her door at night for a long time to come."

Makeup Crush, Nars & Jemma Kidd Makeup School

I couldn't help but swoon at Camilla Belle's makeup look from January 2011.  This is the most beautiful soft smokey eye I have ever seen.  The expertly smudged dark shadows make her look so mysterious and sultry!  It's not the easiest look to pull off and her gorgeous warm skin tone helps to keep the overall look sexy instead of zombie-esque.

I would say the key to this look would be a great under-eye concealer, choosing shades which complement your colouring and blend, blend and blend some more.   This look was created using black eyeliner to create a ring around her entire eye with a grey shadow across her lids and underneath the lashes. The grey tones keep everything soft and hazy. There's a deep rose shade in the crease of her eyelid, which also acts as a soft contour. There's also a creamy, light pink shimmer in the inner corners to keep everything looking fresh.  Absolutely adore this look! P.S. - I also have some serious hair envy now!

I rarely deviate from my favourite bronzer, Dior Matte Sunshine Bronzer in Honey Matte.  This stuff is the best - full stop.  However, when I feel like wearing a bronzer with SLIGHT shimmer, I have found that Nars Irresistiblement bronzer works really well with my skin tone.  I know alot of people love the Laguna and Casino shades but they both just end up looking muddy and too brown on me.  However, this shade, described as 'golden terracotta', blends so well into my skin and just gives me a really natural glow.

The Nars website claims that this bronzing powder "fills in lines and pores for smoother looking skin, sheer color enhances or creates the look of tanned skin, subtle shimmer adds glow, imperceptible finish ideal for all skin tones".  The terracotta shade of this bronzer is very subtle and never looks orange.

You do get a lot of product for your money and I have found that you don't much of the bronzer to create the desired effect.  I would say this would be a good bronzer for anyone with fair to fair/medium skintones.  The rubber packaging does annoy me slightly because it gets mucky very quickly!  But aside from that, this bronzer is great for when you want a bit of extra glow.

I'm becoming a big fan of Jemma Kidd products and this week I started using one of their new blush products JK In Vogue Perfect Blush in 5th Avenue (new for Spring/Summer 2011).  This blush is a gorgeous mixture of light pink, peach and light beige with a nice blend of satin and very, very slight shimmer section.  This blush product also comes in South Beach (bronze hues) and Rodeo Drive (Pink/mauve hues).

I just use my Space NK Blush brush and dab all over the pan to get an even hint of each shade.  I find that it gives me a lovely fresh pop of peachy pink colour and looks very natural on the skin.  The slight shimmer isn't visible unless you look very, VERY closely.  The same way in which Benefit Coralista has slight shimmer in it.  You can sweep it over your cheeks for a natural glow or build it up for more intense colour.  I personally prefer the more natural look.  The powder has good pigmentation as you can see from the individual swatches above and it is silky and smooth to apply.  I'm not as keen on the clear packaging and prefer their usual sleek black floral packaging BUT the product inside gets a big thumbs up from me!

You can get this JK Jemma Kidd blush from ASOS for £12.00.

Now I kept hearing loads about the Jemma Kidd Makeup School Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Creme in Rose Gold.  Since I'm a regular highlighter junkie, I felt it was my duty to check this product out!  It's described as a "light-diffusing crème can be used all-over for a lustrous finish, for use under or over foundation or on bare skin.  Applied to specific areas of the face, Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Crème in Rose Gold acts like a highlighter and can be layered to intensify the finish. Added moisturising jojoba and sun filters help protect the skin, while rice bran oil hydrates and enhances the skins elasticity".

This product was also recently voted Best Of Beauty 2011 in it's category by Red Magazine.

I definitely prefer the warmer Rose Gold shade because it compliments my slightly tanned complexion.  I do like the MAC Cream Colour Base BUT they can be slightly too thick and sometimes difficult to work with.  This Jemma Kidd product is the complete opposite in the respect that it has a very lightweight texture that blends into the skin perfectly without disturbing your makeup.  It has the same texture as the Jemma Kidd Blushwear Creme Cheek Colour.  It could be described as a cream-to-powder formula because as soon as it comes into contact with your skin, it just blends seamlessly.  This makes it extremely easy to layer up and create a more intense highlight.

This Jemma Kidd highlighter looks incredibly natural on your skin in the harsh light of day.  I just use my fingers to dab it onto my cheekbones and I find that works perfectly.  It really does create the effect of naturally glowing, dewy skin and I love that it's so undetectable but so effective at the same time.  It's a true contradiction in terms!  The compact it comes in has a mirror in the lid, the usual black rubber-feel Jemma Kidd packaging and it's very compact and convenient.  It does come in a cooler shade Iced Gold  for fairer complexions.  You can get it from LookFantastic for £17.00.

Amitabh not an Indian claims Pakistani

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan may not be Indian after all, if the claims of a Pakistani man are to be believed.
Amitabh Bachchan
Jaffar Hussain, a resident of Nawanpind, Faisalabad (Pakistan), claims that Bachchan is his younger brother, according to a Geo News report.

Hussain says Bachchan, accompanied by one Amir Badshah, fled to Karachi and then crossed the border into the Indian port city of Mumbai when he was 14 years old.

He even claims that Bachchan’s ‘real name’ is Subh Sadiq and their father Abdul Haq, a goldsmith, had filed a complaint against Badshah in 1963.

According to Hussain, Bachchan always displayed a keen interest in films.

Bachchan, born on October 11, 1942, in Allahabad, is the eldest son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan, a renowned Hindi poet, and Teji Bachchan, who hailed from Faisalabad.

He schooling took place in Gyana Prabodhini and Boys High School, Allahabad and Sherwood College, Nainital. He graduated from Kirorimal College, Delhi University. Before coming to Mumbai and taking up an acting career, Bachchan was working in Bird and Co in Kolkata.

FOTD And Some Products I Have Been Loving Lately

I know I haven't been as active on my blog as usual so apologies for that! I have been involved in an exciting new business venture which is currently taking up a large proportion of my time...all will be revealed in the near future!

I decided to revisit a favourite go-to look a couple of days ago which was originally inspired by Kylie Minogue's makeup in the 'All The Lovers' music video.  I love this eyeshadow combination for a night-time look because the shades really glisten and become so illuminated in darker conditions (if that makes sense).  Sorry the pics are a wee bit hazy, they weren't meant to be like that but my camera decided to act up!

My all time favourite lashes are the Ardell 109 or 110 ones because they are just so easy to apply and pretty much fuss free but I do ALWAYS use Revlon lash glue because it's the most reliable for me.  I personally much prefer false lashes that look as natural as possible and just add that extra bit of volume and fullness.  I'm not into drag queen-esque ones with diamantes, feathers and lace hanging off them!  I have tried some of the Revlon Fantasy Lengths lashes before and was impressed with them as a more affordable option (they are only £4.65 each in Boots).  My faves are the 'Flirty' style as they make your lashes look fluttery without looking fake.  The band on them is very thin and although it comes out of the packaging quite straight in shape, it can easily be manipulated to fit your eye shape.

I love any product that can add super shine to my hair but many shine sprays can leave your hair a bit heavy or even greasy.  I recently started using the Tigi Catwalk Volume Collection Your Highness Weightless Shine Spray...yeah it's a mouthful isn't it!  It claims "the finishing touch for any voluminous style is healthy shine. This practically weightless spray eliminates frizz while adding luminous shine".  Firstly, this stuff smells amazing...I think it reminds me a bit of Armani Code perfume.  It basically smells gorgeous and I'm up for anything that makes my hair smell amazing whilst adding shine.  The spray also has heat protectant qualities so you can use it before you blowdry or after.  It really is weightless and leaves no oily/greasy residue on your hair...

My hair was left feeling fresh, light and really natural.  It left my hair with illuminating shine and the fragrance lasted all night.  It helped to smooth down flyaway hairs too leaving my hair looking really healthy.  Because I have fine hair, I have to be extra careful which products I use so as not to weigh my barnet down but this stuff is now my new favourite shine spray!

I also like the fact that it has a fine spray nozzle so only the slightest mist comes out to delicately coat your hair with shine.  The black, purple and silver packaging is also really pretty!

You can get the 200ml can from FeelUnique here for only £10.35 with free delivery!

Another product that has completely turned my opinion has been Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara which I first heard of on The Yummy Mummy's Beauty Blog and also Tanya Burr's YT channel.  Now I have never worn mascara on my bottom lash line because:

a) I have deep set eyes so I'm prone to dark circles
b) I have never been able to find a mascara that doesn't smudge or flake on lower lashes
c) Normal mascara wands always made it incredibly difficult to apply it without making a mess

It's like you need a completely different formula of mascara to work on your lower lashes and until now, I avoided applying it there altogether.  Because of the drier formula and teeny brush wand of this specially designed Clinique mascara, you can have lightly defined lower lashes without the mess!

I don't like to have heavy mascara on my bottom lashes but sometimes it's nice to define them for night-time looks.  The last thing I want is clumpy, thick lower lashes which would just accentuate my dark circles! So this mascara is perfect for me and the small brush makes the job SO much easier.  I was just left with a clean, smudge free lower lashline with no splodges on my skin.

I don't know why it has taken this long for a brand to catch on to this idea.  By lightly coating my lower lashes, my eyes actually appear bigger and that's the look I was going for.  You can also get this mascara in Brown for a more subtle daytime look.  I love this Clinique mascara and I love the fact that it has enabled me to try something out that I would otherwise have avoided.  Thumbs up!

I just had to include this funny pic of little Wolfey.  I gave him a little noodle and he somehow got it stuck on his head! Tt took him forever to firstly realise he had a noodle on his head and then even longer to get it off!  You can actually see the frustration on his face! ha ha.  Damn you noodle!

I was watching Later With Jools Holland as usual last night and I was amazed by this British guy's performance.  He definitely falls into the category of unexpected.  I mean he looks like an indie Prince Harry but he sings like a soulful angel!  It just shows you can never judge a book by it's cover! What's even more impressive is that he is only 20 years old and he performed this song using only his own voice recorded and played back on the spot to create harmonies and beats.  Impressive stuff!
